Sounds like a plan, Jeff.  I suggest there's no need for a box, just use double-back tape to mount those bad boys right to the headliner so the pimp-azz chrome will bling your ride...

i thought my idea would work better, using a ported size box and sealing the box with a 1/4" plywood with some weatherstripping for around doors, and finding a very efficent hot glue gun to seal in the extra holes. and maybe some finishing nails, just to be safe.

but i've also heard dyohns tactic with the duct tape, mounting it to the head liner. dyohn, would you use 2 or 3 strips of tape for each sub? i heard 2 would work and give more rattle against the metal when you pump 15watts in it from a home stereo.

btw, if you get turtle wax and emery paper/cloth you can really give those baskets a super shine. i heard this from a guy with 4audiobahns in a infinite baffle setup in his 86hatchback missing the window from the rear. he had the loudest car i've heard. but his stereo really muffled the engine noise once he hooked up the grounds directly to the brake discs on the front of his car. god if metal ever needed more noise-distortion, his car was the perfect piece.

jeff i suggest you sell those eclipses and look at those new square subs from pyramid i hear they will blow stuff apart, they look amazingly unique and i bet they would hit so much lower.

Yea, the emory cloth trick works great especially if followed by three or four coats of Armor All.  Also use WD-40 to make those surrounds shine!

Ground to brakes.  Lol.  That one HAS to be true.

Wow, jeff If you wanna quite pissing around and bea  true pimp you need to cut a whole in the roof and invert a 32" driver so the magnet sticks out thte top and looks like a satalite dish, and no need to amp it, just run the speaker wire strait to the altenator and the altenator bracket. Thats gonna make those guys at finals run scared

ahhhhh yes the white mustang.....I wonder how that bad boy turned out.     Probably blew the motor trying to run the NOS with 500+ pounds of bondo in the rear of the car and broke something.

Wait, I just envisioned something. Why don't you use 8 15's for your low bass. You could build a wall. And if you need more room you could cut a sunroof and extend them through the top. And who needs a passenger seat? You could put 4 10's there for your midbass. And Audiobahn makes the perfect amp for this. It will run all 12 subs and light your cigar at the same time!

i thought stuff was photoshop'd until i didnt see a "lol" after his post, that scared me.

those 32" drivers, i know they have the same material used in duct tape for the cone, but can you get it in a different color duct tape, cus i wanted to try a rainbow effect on the cone to see what it would look like with the huge 102mm excursion.

you should lower the car 1/4" off the ground; you need the vibration of car to periodically touch the ground for the added dB's.

and for bracing the subwoofer on the roof of the car, use hockey sticks attached to the mirrors with wood glue, preferably the elmers editable stuff, that stuff rocks, and if you have any left, its a nice snack for midnight munchies

10 1 farad caps and run them all in parallel and bridge them before the amp, will give you alot of power

don't forget that you need to listen to mp3 cds burned at 96kbps to hear the full range of frequencies from your system

while you all are having fun with all of your fancy things you might as well throw a good ol' 8-track player in there.

Oh yeah, you can really get the most out of an 8-track.  If the tape jams, you can still use the mile of tape out of the cartridge.  Just criss-cross it back and forth over your 32-inch roof sub and voila!  You've got one helluva planar transducer.  That'll sound SWEET when it hits!

I wouldn't get that Audiobahn 34'' AWXT or whatever. If you want to go extremely high quality with low lows and good all around bass, you can't beat a PYLE Super Pro 18''. Mount 2 of these on your roof by ductaping the magnet to it, and cut a 2x4 in half to brace it. Hook 8 more up in the trunk, put 4 in the back seats, and 2 in your passenger seat, as well as one under your glove compartment. Run it off of that audiobahn amp (which i heard is the best - beat Zapco and US Amps by like 50 dbs..) And you should hit around 190.5 db's no problem, and that his just at RMS. If you even want to get higher, try that crazy PYLE or PYRAMID amp, those are the best!!! <0.00000000001% THD. Remember, the more chrome you add the better it will sound! Melt solder and put it where you can to blend in too! It makes you hit harder! Oh, and put kleenex in your doors to deaden them, as well as used tissues for polyfill in your box. They work great! Good luck!

actually with those pyle super pros. your best bet is to mount them with the surround on the roof of your car, and use a silicon to seal it off. if you power it right the subs will actually create more SPL by pushing up their own weight. what happens is sound you'll never hear from a sub mounted in those pathetic MDF or Fiberglass enclosures.

but your method works wonders if your trying to go for SQ

You guys are missing te point.  Why go through all these modifications and junk when all this can be resolved by properly installing a full Jensen system.  HU,Amps,Subs,6X9's.    The perfect syssssssstem    (<----system with xtra hissss).  Don't even have to tune it !!You  you can also save even more money on wood cause those subs can be mounted in a cardboard boxes now!!!!.  Love Jensens ingenuity.  :)

And don't forget the ultimate awesome accessoies, the 3-foot wing on the trunk and the chrome-plated fart-cannon muffler, both of which are good for that extra 3db you need for block-rocking bass..

Yeah, well my 16 Pyle Super Pro's and their Pyramid amp will beat that setup anyday! I hit 211 dbs and blew out some piece of crap woofer called a Doubleyoo sevven or something retarted like that. 170 dbs? Hah, pathetic. That fart muffler of DYohn's can at least do 180. That guy was using some other retarted equipment, that horribly distorted "US Amps", some common name flea market crap i bet. Whatever, maybe when i get money after i rob this bank next to my condo i might get something called "Volfenhag's" and they are crazy! The store manager at CarTunes said they hit around 240 db RMS with 5 wats running into them! God i'm jealous...

I don't know, but he must have baid like 400,000 on that car, it looks really expensive. I paid like $5 for my chop shop vehicle i built myself with a glue gun. My toilet paper deadens the doors great and my box is fantastic cardboard ( a worthy investment ) and it pounds! My neighbors called the police because i had an SPL competition outside my door and hit 210 db's with my pyles and their ears melted... Whatever, some people are just wusses. 210 isn't even that much, compared to those crazy Volfenhags. Those suckers hit like 290 without a problem!

Yeah, i've seen those things. He got 20''s your right, and he thumps while he goes down the street! Those audiobahns are great! They hit like 190 db's. Still my pyle will smoke them in a competition. You just can't beat them unless you can cough up serious money for a volfenhag. Adire, bah, that is childs play you can buy with spare change.
