I have just built a a sub enclosure for my new system.  The subs that i have are Diamond Audio TDX15D4's, each is in it's own separate chamber.  According to the specs the subs work best when in a chamber 1.4 - 3.0 cu.ft.  I built the box with 3.0 cu. ft. exactly in each chamber.  Now after the fact I want to make each chamber a bit smaller to obtain tighter, harder hitting bass.  My question is:  Is there anything that I can do to make the subs "think" that they are in a smaller chamber?  If not I can go back and actually make the chambers smaller.  Just trying to avoid doing that.

You can glue in a length of 2 X 4 and the box will think it's smaller.  Use plenty of caulk (premium door and window variety) on all connecting surfaces so that the wood doesn't actually contact the enclosure, but nestles in a bed of caulk.  It works like a charm.  Measure the 2 X 4 for exact displacement value.
