on the back of a head unit, what size fuse should there be? should this be the same size rating as the fuse near the battery for 12v constant? when wiring up a head unit what gauge wire/what rating should be used? thanks in advance

Read your manual for the fuse rating.
Wire size for everything other than the 12V constant and ground is usually 16 or 18 AWG.

Does the deck have a fuse in the back of it, if it does then its safe to say you can use the same size on your power wire. Generally decks will draw less than 10 amps and I think ALL decks draw less than 15 amps

there is no fuse in the head unit. i have 15 amp wire. will this be good enough to wire up the head-units power and ground?

the website, of the manufacturer, usually has a manual (most times in PDF format) that you can actually download.
if your specific model is not on their website, a model similar to it cant be far from the model you have. try the internet.
