wut up everybody,
i just finished up my first install of a new head unit (sony cdx-mp70) on my 2000 mustang w/mach 460.  everything went alright but i soon realized that when i turn the head unit on, there is a single loud "pop" from the speakers and then everything's okay.   i am using the existing oem amps (3x with the mach system).  does anybody have any ideas of what this could be?  if you need more details on the install, let me know.  thanks for the help!

your getting a ground loop pop ground the radio with two different wire in two different location . meaning groung one wire to frame of radio than metal chassis behind radio your current ground may not be enough..

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

The factory amplifier is looking for a 5 volt remote signal from the headunit. Put a 4.7k resistor inline of you remote wire. That should take care of the  pops.
