What do you guys / gals think about wiring a DVC sub to a 2ch amp with one VC on Ch1 and the other VC on Ch2?
I just want to see everyone's responce to this cause i got told today ... AND learned something =)
You can do this. It is not recomended by a lot of people since it is possible that the signals from the two amps can cancel each other, stop the cone movement and cause the voice coils to overheat. But as long as you ensure the input to both channels is exactly the same and in phase, it can be a good solution.

this article from Adire Audio. This is a god read and i learned a lot!!
It won't "tear a sub apart," but it can damage voice coils if two things happen at the same time: 1) you are running at or near the thermal power limit of the voice coils, and 2) the signal going to the two voice coils is out of phase such that the speaker stops moving. It is the movement of the voice coil assembly that cools it. The effect is similar to what happens inside a speaker when the amplifier clips severely.

Support the12volt.comThe big thing you want to make sure is that the same signal is going to the two channels of the amplifier. Using a Y adapter on the RCA's will help. Also if your amplifier has different gain pots for each channel like the old Soundstream amps had, you will need to be very careful that they are matched perfectly.
