In my system i am going from my battery to my dist block in the trunk out the block to a kx3 crossover, kx1200.1, and kx650.4 amp.  The amps came with fuses the installation kit came with fuses I really don't know what sizes, were, and when to use the fuses.

Place your main fuse at (or within 12" of) the battery positive terminal.  This fuse should be sized to protect the wiring.  Look at the "Power and Ground" link on the left side of this page to determine the maximum current your wire gage size can handle.  There is really for need to fusing between the distru block and your components unless you want to use them.
