I have 4 ft of 4gauge power wire running my amp now, but I am about to switch amps.  The amp is going to be 400WX1 and I can use 4 gauge with it.  So there is only going to be 4ft of 4 gauge wire, for no more than 64amps.  Should I lengthen the wire or is it okay to just stay with this lenght.  I would love it if I didnt have to get new wire.

4 feet of 4 AWG wire will be fine. In fact shorter is better. Less resistance. This website has a good chart on this matter https://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp. I am not sure if you looked at this yet but there you are anyways.

I looked at the chart and seen that it rates 4 feet of  4 gauge wire at like 150 amps that is why i wasnt sure if it was okay to use this for no more than 64 amps.  But thanks for the advice

When it comes to amperage, less is safer and the wire length can be increased.
