Yeah, Just installed my Panasonic (early Christmas )  CQ-DFX883U and I LOVE IT.  Last years model I know but I scored it for $160 new and it retailed for around $400.

Have had Sony, JVC, Pioneer but none lived longer than the Panasonic units I had in the past so that is the brand I stick with.

hey no problem... it's just that you'll have a sh*tload of "Other" and never know what those "other" brands/models may have been......

We should have another poll with Clarion, Panasonic, Pioneer, Blau, Sony...

Put the top 2 there agains Eclipse, Alpine, and other.

Just an idea... I'm honestly interested in the "mainstream" brand poll at least.

I had a couple of panasonics back about 10 years ago. Sent two back for different problems with the drive mechanism and called it quits. Can't say I really had much of a chance, or the system, for that matter, to evaluate the SQ. I was disappointed though, they usually do have a decent feature set.

Owned a clarion pro audio head during college.. I forget the model number. Nice unit. Never had any mechanical problems and had adequate sq for my lowish-range system at the time. Mtx coax, Eclipse 6x9s, sherwood 50x2, crunch sub amp, 2 mtx thunder5000 12" subs. Drove a Mazda 4wd MPV. Those MTX subs in a large sealed box got nice and deep in the SUV/Van environment. Was a decent driver for hammering the tunes and hauling brothers to fraternity softball games.

blah .. sorry for the trip down memory lane.
