the sub that I have (12"kicker CompVR) just rattles the crap out of the license plate and the whatever the exhaust pipe connects to (sorry not good w/ car parts). Anyways, my question is...since the parts that rattle are both located outside the car, would a complete dynamat kit covering the trunk have any effect on the part beneath the car? I already plan to get the foam license plate dynamat offers. if so besides the dynamat trunk kit what would be your recomendations on the dynamat itself? is it even worth it? will it make a dramatic or noticeable difference? Is there some other way I should go besides dynamat? any help will be greatly apreciated

It should help.  Also get some rubber washers and put behind the licence plate.  That works good, worked for me.

I dont suggest dynamat, its over priced.  Try Raammat.  100$ for like a 65 sq ft roll on ebay. Thats enough to do the hatch area and doors at least.

This stuff really does work.\

Im a supra fan, my goal in life is to get a mk2 and swap out the engine with a 7mgte from the mk3- thats your model.  Light weight and a powerhouse...fun time there.

so say if i put the rubber washers, will it still be necessary to get the dynamat license plate or should i just do it ghetto style and add my own foam? cuz wont it still be hitting in the middle of the frame. ill do more research on Raammat cuz i havent heard of it.

thx for the tip on the washers

,no need for dynamat,  just get 2 rubber washers per corner...it will work do to the fact that hte license plate wont be in contact with the back plate...its your call.....8 washers=$1 or dyna kit for $10+

as for the exhaust rattle, just play it at "heard" volume and figure out presisly were its coming from...it could be as easy as tightning a bolt..

I have a 85 Supra myself. You will have to work at it a little to pinpoint the rattles. Like Maxst said, you can get cheaper sound dampening material than Dynamat. Just put it everywhere you can in the hatch area. It will sound a lot better.

yea i couldnt wait to try the rubber washers out. so this morning before school i went to buy some, and it really improved, sounds much better. Tomorrow im gonna look for any bolts to tighten in that area then hopefully start on trying to get the hatch area's sound dampening. After that maybe i can start bumping through the school parking lot without the embarrasing rattles.

losangdodgers, check your PM. By the way, a thief never steals TOO much stuff. The more they get, the more they want!
