GOOD OR BAD
I just hooked up two 12v lawnmower batteries to an 800watt amp. it is pushing two 12's
it worked but then the battery went dead, but did i do it right,
i grounded one battery, to frame where amp was ground, then i ran a cable from that battery+pos to the other batteries -neg, then i ran a cable from that +pos, to the amp, does this sound correct, or is there another way to give it more power?
and are the deep cycle, stinger and other sealed batteries all they are cracked up to be, or are they no good unless there is a cap present.
u should run them in parralell......ground one battery then run the negative from one to the other than to the amp.
for the positive run it the same way...from one battery to the next to a fuse then to the amps.
make sure u have the batteries connected to your alternator or other battery under the hood which is connected to the alt.
. u need something to charge the batteries or they will keep dieing. u have nothing charging them at this time if i read correctly. i think that is your problem
u may also want to get a battery isolator so that it seperates the battery from your stock location one.

what type of vehicle and what type of amps? you rally shouldnt need 2 additional batteries for something like this. And if you are using the 12 volt lawnmower batteries then they migh not work so well, unless you are talking about a large john deere lawnmower battery, most lawnmower batterys are very small and wont hold much of a charge anyways

actually, i run a lawnmower shop and a parts place. the batteries are the same depending on the horsepower
it has 325ca, not cca i think it is 260. a peice of course., i was just doing this as an experiment, not for a final instalation. but it was pretty interesting, i used 6 guage for all the grounds, except amp to frame(8awg), and the power cable to amp was 8 guage, maybe it would do better with a bigger wire, or some baterries that was charged al the way, about the cable from battery or (alt), should i run a 4awg cable, back to the pos+ on one battery then wire, the other parrelled, how would i do that, and sexyvic1 you kinda coundused me

are you saying also, that the amp should gound threw the batt, or seperatedly, (one or two grounds?)
