I would like to thank you for your quick responses; however, they have sparked a couple more: First after checking the out the wire connector manufacturer's web page, they state that the air bag might not now work, is there any truth to that.  Secondly, does anyone know the pinout of the factory radio or have a copy of a schematic...(I went to the dealer today and they were not very helpful). And lastly if this is a safety issue with the air bag, should I press the install shop into taking back their merchandise, because they did not properly inform me of this air bag issue......Your further help would be greatly appreciated....MIKE

The factory radio shares the same data bus wire as the SRS. Shorting that one wire to either +12v or ground will totally disable everything like SRS, ABS, BCM, PCM, instrument cluster, doorlocks, windows, memory seats, HVAC front and rear, door trigger, amplifier, OnStar, XM, keyless entry, DIC, CD changer, and some others.
