I am trying to install aftermarket head unit in 98 intrepid.     I used a.m.wiring harness adapter .

The head unit turns on but no sound at all . There was a lone wire hooked to the factory unit not the ground strap," seperate white plastic clip whith one wire" . I have grounded and powered the wire and all it does is disable the tac needle and make the gas gauge read empty.Could that be an amp remote or something of that nature?
