how many wires were on the old harness that went into the deck? I know most of these trucks came with an amp

2004 and up Dodge trucks that have an Infinity sound system use data for turn on and even if you try to get sneaky you still can't use the amp as the radio sends a fixed level straight to the BCM and the BCM does all the fading, level control and protection and such. You have to bypass the amp in these vehicles.  Now when you take out the amp that is behind the glove box on the top left, find out if the there are two plugs in the factory amp or one plug. Metra makes harness' for both these applications. Give them a call and tell them you need an amplifier bypass harness for whichever plug system you have. Most 04's use the two plug setups.
