I have a 03 Altima 3.5 SE and the license plate area (not so much the plate) rattles a lot and I was wondering what is the best way 2 go. I heard Dynamat but that stuff is so expensive. And If I do buy it where is the best place to apply for maximum quality sound or hopefully no sound.
If Interested I run- (2)Alpine type R 2ohm DVC
Soundstream Rubicon 1002 brig@ 2ohm load 1000x1 approx
Alpine MRV- F450
Alpine Type R components

Take the trunk lid off and your rattles will go away.
Seriously, dynamat won't get rid of rattles if you don't know where they are, so don't just go blanket your car in dynamat and assume the rattles will be gone. You need to hunt them down individually and come up with a way to eliminate them. I have used rubberized undercoating and felt glued to panels that rattle. Trunks also have an adjustable latch that you can move down and that usually helps. Dynamat behind the plate plastic part the plate mounts to helps as well.

Find out where the rattling is coming from, areas to check are the rear window deck. wing if you ahve one. junk in the spare tire well, or a lose spare tire. the license plate, it there is a trunk flap. look behind the carpet on the drivers side. I have had a few cars with plastic flaps that rattle like crazy. and Like said before, tighent the trunk lid down. try putting rubber bushings behind the license plate. And if comes to it, rubberize the whole inside of the turnk
