I've been looking to upgrade the front speakers in my 2000 Chrysler Cirrus and am unsure about what to get. Right now I'm thinking about getting either the Diamond Audio Hex S600s or the Adire Koda 6.1. What do you guys think the merits of either speaker set-up would be? I'm interested predominantly in sound quality, and would probably end up running either set-up through the Zapco 350.2 if that helps at all. Thanks in advance.

Where are you planning to install them?

The reason I ask is because Adire really seems to have placed importance in smoothing the off-axis response on the Kodas as much as possible. If you're planning on putting the drivers into the door locations, the Kodas might be better for you, in my opinion.

Having said that I have not heard the Kodas. I have heard the Diamonds and thought they sounded excellent in the showroom.

I was going to put the midrange drivers in the door locations and the tweeters in the dash near the windshield (I have 3 1/2" slots there already).

Well, with the midrange in door, I'd probably go with the Kodas myself.

As an aside, since it seems like you're interested in SQ, it would be best to place the midrange and tweeter as close as possible. The 3.5" slots are WAY to far from the midrange drivers in that car. Your sound would likely seem broken / separated and have some phase / frequency response problems with the tweeter and midrange that far apart.

With the door application I would definitely go with the Koda components.
