With ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY, no, that is not causing it... look elsewhere. Have your alternator checked, or even is your battery any good still? How old is it? Have you ever let it self-discharge? Have you ever deep-cycled it?
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

What color is the top of your battery......RED top optimas CANNOT be cycled, they develope memory problems from the get-go. TRUST ME! If its a yellow top your ok, thats a deep cycle battery meaning discharge- recharge many times (cycle) A red top optima is for starting and normal operation of your car (not heavy loads and discharge) caused from lots of gear. PLEASE trust me. you dont want to get stranded.

Kartuneman is right, check what series your battery is. I have a D34/78 Yellow Top in my Explorer and i run everything off of one port even though it has two, but it works out just fine. I called the people at optima and told then what i wanted to do and that is what they told me. If it is a yellow top though, you shouldn't have any trouble running both ports, you would if it is a red because they are not deep cycle batteries.
