The title says it all - lost and confused. I am running 2 10" Rockford 2110s and a temporary Jensen 600W amp until i get my MTX Thunder8302 in - here is the story, i wire my subs as needed at 2 ohms onto the Thunder8302 and nothing would come out of the subs, same is happening with jensen - when the jensen was in my buddy's car m,y subs would run on his, so i know the wiring of my subs is all good - next i have 8 gauge power wire, 8 gauge ground wire, blew a AUE 50 Fuse, remote lead in - its in a del sol - i am getting absolutely NADA outta my subs, do i need different wiring? i have had numerous people try to help but nobody knows any suggestions are welcome at all, im just temporarily borrowing the jensen to try to troubleshoot, thanks for any help guys

First thing make sure that the amp is turning on. Check the main fuse on the battery for your amp, not in the amp itself. If the amp is not turning on it could be a bad remote lead from your radio, in that case you can use your ignition wire to turn your amp on and off. Make sure that the paint under that ground that you have for the amp is completely removed to bare metal for a solid ground and good connection. Post your results.

that's not good. Did it touch the neg? Now we know that you will have to replace that wire. Hopefully that's all that it was. ------------- Sound Pressure

well i saved the wire, it was pinched under something, and my hood put more pressure on it, so i believe it cut thru, it grounded against the body and now part of my engine bay is charred, im lucky

listen change your power wire since you have a 600w amp now and mostlikely going to change it to something higher move up to four guage wire instead of 8. better off it is stronger and the power rating is better. second make sure you are connecting the poss and negg to the right terminal on the amp if it is opposite . it will right away blow the fuse or most amps will . dont use jenson . so i dont know . try that i do have aim or aol djfearny2@aol.com ------------- Jon

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

What are you using for a signal input for the amp? RCA's or high level inputs ? If you are using RCA's try to switch the RCA's that you have with another set and also switch the RCA outputs of the deck from what you have now to the other set of RCA's , if you have dual preouts on the deck. Post your results. ------------- Jeff

Don't assume anything when it comes to 12 volt electronics.... I've heard of wierder stuff, but something may have loosened off during transport. Look into the connections behind the sub and at the amplifier. Do you access to another friends system that you can check your subs out on ?

on my cd deck i have Audio Out Front, Audio Out Rear, and Bus Input - which should i plug into?

in subwoofer installs you should hook the rca'sm to the rear make sure you do not use the bus audio in. SInce it sounds like you have a sony try a different deck sonys have a lower voltage preout. If that still doesn't work start from scratch is the amp turning on are the gains up are the rca's plugged into the inputs on the amp are the subs wired properly remember two 8 ohm subs bridged are 4ohms but 2 ohms at the amp because you cut it in half so two 4 ohm subs are 2 ohms briged and 1 ohm at the amp most amps are not rated to handle 1 ohm or even 2 ohms in bridged mono. After you install the new 4g. wire and scrape new ground try a new set of rcas cheapies from radio shack are good to test if there is still nothing you might have a disconnected speaker wire in the box hope I could help good luck

Also make sure to check your battery and alternator the battery is the cars biggest capacitor and the car won't stay running without a good one.
