double din question

I don't beleive they make a single din screen alone. The only way to do this is to use a single din stereo, and then use a motorized screen to flip out from the top. Other than doing that you can put a graphic equalizer under the radio in the second din of the opening. And no i dont know where to find a such screen unless you get something like the Pioneer AVIC-N1, in which case it has a radio built in to it which would make the other stereo useless.....you could just get the AVIC-N1 and you can get a doub le to single din adaptor from Metra,.

Your dash opening isn't a true double din opening, but a 1&1/2 din. There are plates available to convert it to a single din opening. There is no depth behind the radio opening so the plates cause the radio to stick out an inch or so further that the factory radio does. There are many manufacturers that offer a single CD with flip out screen.

For the sticking out issue with install kits, I have a friend who worked for a few car audio stores/install bays, If  you have an Air duct  behind the head unit, you can use a heat gun, and carefully warm up the plastic duct and then push the radio in just a little bit further so the head unit is past flush. Pull the radio out and let the duct cool. If you have done this right ( NOt crushing or melting the plastic duct to the point it tears) you can install the Head unit with a flush install kit instead of having the radio stick out an inch, and looking tacky.
