I have just purchased a set of IDQ8  that I will install in my front doors.  Can I get some recommendations for mids and tweeters.  This is a SQ set up and I not cerned with SPL.  4 inch mid would fit into the doors nicely.

The rest of my system is an xtant 3300x amp and Shiva woofer in a 1.8ft box.

Their are alot of nice component sets out, but the general consensus will be to go listen and pick the right set for your ears. You will find each have a unique sound which is mainly due to design of tweeters. You decide which pleases you the most.

Well, sq and door speakers really don't mix.

I have heard that matching brands in this situation may be helpful but not sure since you are using a woofer that plays different freq. than say a 4" How are you going power the comp set and idq8? I would find something that would probably be more bright than bass oriented like the MB Quarts. I would also look in to the Rainbow Audio speakers

Power is supplied by an Xtant 3300x amp.  My current plan is to cross the IDQ at 60 & 300 Hz.

Head out and listen to speakers is the best thing to do. MB Quart, Focal, Rainbow, Morel and Macrom are all speakers that should make the short list.

auex, why do you say that? I just am wondering what your reasons are, for believing that door speakers cannot be SQ setups as well...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I have just picked up a set of Boston Pro series 4.5.  Crossover will be 70-300Hz (IDQ8),  300 up (BA Pros 4.5).  The Bostons come with their own passive cross for the mid and tweets.

The midbass and mids  will go in the doors with the mids being over the woofers (as low as possible) and tweets in the sail panels..

I picked up the BA Pro 4.5 'new in box' off of ebay for $177.  I think retail is $399 or there about.  I have a set of BA Pros 6.5 in my doors right now.  I really like the way the 6.5's sound, but they lack a really powerful midbass.
