I was just wondering what the advantages/ disadvantages of the two were.  I noticed that most car audio has dome tweeters and home audio uses horns just wondering why?

HERE is a pretty good description of the differences between tweeters.  Most home audio uses domes too, by the way.  :)

Well, it depends, are you refering to Compression Loaded Horn Tweeters?

If so, the major advantage they have it efficiency. In some extreme cases, horn loading a tweeter, or any driver for that matter, can increase the sensitivity 9Db

I disagree. The great advantage from horns in vehicles is

1) allowing for more equal pathlengths among the most point source obvious frequencies (high freqs)

2) The primary advantage from horn loading is they are able to amplify the lower range of what the driver can reproduce. This makes achieving a good frontstage easier.

The cons of horns are

1) you will need a good 1/3 octave EQ to get very good results from horns

2) All horns leave a signature, no matter how slight .

I have owned USD 7.0s with full Rane processing, and MB Quart with only a stereo 1/2 octave EQ, and I will never go back to horns. Contrary to what is said about their installation, you need to be a master installer and physicist to achieve a good install and resemble factory equipment with HLCDs. Basically if you need to ask about them, avoid them, or be prepared to drop some cash with a proven, experienced installer(s).

Good luck on your quest.
