what is underpowering a spaeker , how does it aggect a speaker and can it damage a speaker . ?how can you tell if a speaker is underpowered.?

Underpowering a speaker is when you do not give the speakers enough power to perform properly. This will seriously damage any speaker and it does not have to be over a long period of time either.You can tell if the speakers are being underpowered by listening for distortion at low volumes. If the speakers start to crackle and pop at volumes that are not very loud, you are not giving enough power to the speakers.

Look at the RMS ratings on the speakers and how much power your amp on the CD is putting out. Most RMS power ratings on decks are about 12 - 20 watts and peak is between 45 - 50 watts.
