ok peeps,


insatlled a xm unit with a ford factory radio...use the FM modulator. everything works good EXECPT the am stations.....any input?????

I'm assuming you've tried turning off the xm/modulator?  cuz usually those things take over the standard radio reception and you can barely even get FM reception either, unless you manually turn off the modulator.  Never heard of it happening with AM, but it's definitely possible.

Other than that, only thing I can think of is how it was with those VWs with the factory antenna boosters that needed a turn-on signal to work properly.  But even then, that's only an issue when the stock head unit is replaced with an aftermarket unit and the special antenna adapter is not used.  Never heard of a Ford--much less an F150--with one of those boosters though...

what year ford is it, i've had/seen many problems with ford radio's am reception. it could very well be a seperate problem not concernig your xm. i bet its in the years of 96-99? the only solution i've found is replacing the radio with aftermarket or deal with it.
