When I have the head unit cranked up and sounding good all my lights dim out. Not really a problem, more of an annoyance, will a capacitor fix this problem?  If so what size? I am running An sony mobile es 7527 amp with 2 kicker compvr 15's on it, with the alpine cda-7863 head unit.

Thanks

Yes a cap will fix this problem. Use a 1 farad cap and it will smooth out the sound as well as fix the dimming problem.

A cap should help siginifigantly. if it doesn't fix it easily, then your next look would be into a higher output alternator, as your charging system isn't keeping up with your draw. I assume the headlights are dimming in flashes in time ith the music? If it is more of a continuious thing, even when there isn't a big bass hit going, it might be somehting else. Unlikely though. Keep us posted.

You can also install a second battery with an isolator.  Then run your entire system from that battery.  This will keep the system from draining your OEM battery, and should eliminate the dimming problem.  Either way, installing the 1 farod cap that Velocity mentioned is a good idea, and can be done fairly easily.
