Any of you guys ever do anything as nuts as modify the appearance of a control head? I have a car I'd like to put a CD changer in, but the display unit is a bright silver and sticks out like a sore thumb in an all BLACK/ carbon fiber dash. I have seen trick installs where guys will change the color of faceplates - even going so far as replacing the silkscreened "markings" for controls. I've also seen installs where something like cruise controls from a Dodge truck was attached to a steering wheel and modified to control a changer, volume, etc.

I'd like to keep everything subtle and a factory look, so the silver just won't do.

Typically I dont mess with Modifying products..But I have changed the face on a EQ,   Changed the face to a diffrent color and changed the backlighting by putting in new lights.   Frankly it wasnt worth the tiem I put into it,   But The site listed above does some trick installs.      The only car I have seen with factory carbon fiber is a new Isizu

Thanks very much for the site - that guy does incredible work.

I guess my post wasn't clear - the dash is oem black with added black carbon fiber trim accents - so either way, silver doesn't "blend".

I may contact hzemall or drop back and punt to wait for the new units that should be out in a couple months......hopefully there will be something out that will "blend".

Thanks again.
