Depending on the way that you have the subwoofer set up in line with the voice coils it would and would not work. If you set the voils coils in series it would work with that style amp, even though the sub would be under-powered it would still thump hard enough at 600 rms, but if you set the voice coils in parallel it would not work the way you would want it too, let alone the amp is not rated for less than 4 ohms bridged which would run the amp at an extermely hot temperature and would draw a lot of extra amperage from your system and would also hurt the clarity of the sound that gets produced.

twof is right you do not want to hurt your amp is you want to keep it very long, the only way i see it is run series to bridge it or run one ch to one coil and the other ch to the other coil, this would be 2 ohm stero eith way you get 600 rms 300 per coil

Bridge it to 4ohms. 600w is fine for that subwoofer, FAR Far far from underpowering it.

Stay with the amp until you upgrade, it will do just fine as long as you stick with series style wireing, the sub is rated at 600 watts rms per voice coil which means that you wont have to worry about blowing the sub when you start beating on it, but yet it will still beat the piss out of your trunk. The set up sounds like it would make a very nice starter system with alot of upgradablity.

You're totally fine with what you have now. Unless you plan to compete in SPL competitions you'll probably never hear the difference between 600w and 1200w for daily driving. ------------- New Project: 2003 Pathfinder
