can someone tell me if the factory head unit from a 1991 BMW M5  requires a hi-low converter to connect to an a/d/s amp? What is the output 4V nominal?

I would prefer to avoid using a hi-low converter and just run the speaker outputs from the head unit and convert to rca inputs for the amp without altering the signal.

Is 4 or 5V ok for the a/d/s amp?

thanks kindly.

yes it would take some sort of converter ,in fact that car has a factory multi channel amp in the left rear of the trunk, you would be much better off sound quality wise.replacing the head unit also ...............................4-5volts for the input of that amp depends on the input  gain range of that amp.most amps i sell i would say 4 to 5 volts is fine.sorry dont sell ADS..hope this helps
