ok i read all the polyfil and sound deadening threads i got when i searched and i have a 2 cf ported box for my mtx 9500 sub so i was going to use 1 lb of polyfil inside the box(i know its recommended 1 lb for 1 cf but do you guys think that is necessary or not)....now do you guys recommend glueing it on the box or just put it in there and put like a little screen over the port so the polyfil wont come out..

i also just got my b quiet deadening and i was wandering what the best way to clean the panels off with is....just soap and warm water or like rubbign alcahol???

thanks for the help

I would not put any polyfill in that box, and for clening the panels use soap and water dry it then use alcahol to get of any substance that may hender adhesion

Eh, you might have to experiment w/ the polyfil.  If you're really interested in seeing the results some experiments with fill, head to Barnes & Noble, have a latte, and read the chapter covering this subject from "The Loudspeaker Cookbook."  The author includes all sorts of charts and data showing the effects of fill.

You want to put the fiberfill in the area with the greatest air velocity from the speaker and that is in the center of the enclosure.  Applying it to the walls won't work as well.
