alright i have a 12 inch JL audio W6V2. is there a way i can hook it up to a P6002 rockford amp, and get the full 500-600 watts??? ------------- tyler

The P6002 is not stable at a 2ohm load bridged so you have to go with the 8ohm configuration. This should give you half of the 600 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS which would be 300w RMS. Your speaker has a 400W RMS rating doesn't it. This should be enough. Have you tried it? If you buy another W6V2 you could bridge them to get a 4ohm load giving you the 600w RMS. This would be doubling the surface area giving you a 3db increase is sound pressure. I'm not sure if this means that it will sound twice as loud. Does anybody know? ------------- Poly Dollies

It takes 10db to sound twice as loud. 3db is actually a rather small gain, sorry.

i told you how to wire it, hook each voice coil up to each channel. thats the safest for your amp and you arent going to lose any real performance. as i recall the amp is 150x2@4ohms rms. your box design will help the volume, but it truly is a pure sq sub. i have the same one. save up, get a second one, and a 2 channel amp that can put out 400rms each channel. the way i designed my box for my single 12, if i put any more than 300watsrms into, the sub would be dead. question kfr, should he use a ysplitter to get the same signal to each channel for the 2 vc's, or should he be fine without it? i would to be safe but im not a fan of splitting signals

pure sq sub? I would not call a 145db on the term lab with 2 12 w6v2 a pure sq sub. thats like calling eclipse a pure sq sub. These subs and most others will take 2 to 3 times thier recommended power if set up properly, when I had my one 10w6v2 I ran 2 fosgate 800a2's on it, pounded all day and is still hitting to this day nearly 3 years later

There's no need to use a splitter when bridging the amp.

I think he was saying if he wanted to use one channel per coil, Not recommended unless you can adjust the gains properly..and I mean very very accurate. Then I would use a y splitter to get the same source to left and right channels. Really you would be better and safter to find a amp that is either a mono block producing power at 2 ohm, or a 2 channel that is 1 ohm stable
