After selling my lcd tv, I have enough cash to buy some stuff from ebay, this is what i bought.

ROCKFORD FOSGATE P4004 400W 4CHANNEL CAR AMPLIFIER
Stinger 4 gauge multi-amp kit ( comes with a cap)
total was around $700
Since the tweeter can be mounted on the speaker of separately, I was wondering where's the best location for it, on the speaker? or off the speaker and where? the front speaker have 2 tweeter each, the rear have only 1. The amp will power all 4 speakers. I am going to fiberglass a kick panel so I can mount the front one there, the rear speaker will be at it original location. I will buy another amp to power a sub soon. So here's a few question I have. btw this is a Honda civic that i have.
1. where to mount the tweeter? on or off? where if off?
2. I want SPL, the whole car have been brownbread, which sub should I get? what size of sub and should I get one or two?
3. What's a good amp to go along with the sub? sub and amp should be less than $400
4. will i need to change battery or alternator? honda alternator is pretty weak, but I don't want to change it if I don't have to.
5. 4 gauge kit enought? each amp will be power by an 8 gauge wire.
about 2 years ago, I have a 700w pioneer amp powering 2 600w/each Boss sub, wire with a 8 gauge wire, the spl was ok for the rear seat, but I can barely feel it from the front, since my car is a 4 door. I want more spl this time, so help me out if you can. Thanks a Lot
1) Mount the tweeters as close to the center of the midrange driver as possible while still aiming at the driver's ear. Try to keep the tweeters and midrange drivers within 4 inches for best sound.
2&3) $400 is not enough for great SPL unless you want to hit up ebay. Sell or take back your 6x9s and use that money on your sub / amp. It would simply be very silly to waste money on rear speakers when SPL is one of your main goals.
Also, you need to determine how much of your trunk you want to take up. 1ft^3, 2ft^3, 3ft^3? more?
4) It depends on the amplifier you pick for the sub.
5) It depends on the amplifier you pick for the sub.
Seriously, if your goal is more SPL this time sell the 6x9s and put that money into the sub and sub amp. The 6x9s were a poor buying decision given your goals. Same with the 4g kit and cap. Caps should be the absolute last priority, in my opinion. I think they're a waste of money for 99% of the cars out there. I've never seen a study show they even work like they advertise. Also, if SPL is your goal 4g might be too small. It generally isn't a good idea to buy wire until after you buy all the amplifiers.
If I were at all interested in SPL, I'd go with 2 efficient 12" subwoofers that work well in ported enclosures. Power them with a good quality amplifier that approaches their rated RMS number.

I bought it from ebay, no return. $400 is not a lot, but that's all i got right now, I want spl, but not too much that will drain my battery or break my alternator and I have to spend more money. I just want to feel something hitting my back when I am driving. I know what you want in one thing have to sacrify another. but I just want to buy what's best for my situation here. so try to help me out. The tweeter can be mount on the speaker, should I do that? or separately with-in 4 inch?
hmmm. k. Seems like you allocated your budget poorly if one of your main goals was SPL, but whatever.
Try the tweeter mounted on the speaker. If it sounds good, keep it there.

These subwoofers are efficient. They don't need much power to get very loud, especially ported. The MTX amp puts out a real 400w at 2-ohms. You shouldn't need another wiring kit with this amplifier.
