Hi All,

im new to this Site..and infact this is my first membership to a Forum... in case anyone wants to know.

Ive recently adapted a 12" Celestion Greenback Speaker (which came with my 1962 Marshall Guitar Amp) into a smaller cabinet for pratical reasons. Ive used the volume calculator in this site (very helpful...thanks) and found out that the available volume is 0.59466 cubic feet.

im having trouble finding a good diameter and port lenght in order to tune these 0.59466 cubic feet  @ 440hz (which is an A on a guitar's neck)

has anyone got any advice to help me with this task ? what would happen if i was to add a second Port ?

Many thanks in advance for your kind reply and friendly help.   Verreck.

A port tuned to 44 hz with that box size could be 2" (5.08 cm) wide and 5.8" (14.72 cm) long. If you wanted it 3 inches wide (7.62 cm) then it would need to be 14.2" (35.56 cm) long. This site has a port calculator so just play around with different sizes. Don't make the mouth of the port too small (under 2" probobly) or else you might have some  nasty sounding whistling from the port (port noise).
