In a Mitsubishi Galant 2000 4 door where is the firewall and how do I access it?

The firewall is what seperates the engine compartment from the interior. You can access it from a few places. Most common and easiest place is under the dash on the drivers side.

Frome inside the car take off whatever plastic piece are in front of it and then pull up the front of the carpet. From under the hood, just get at it wherever you can, there is usually a lot of stuff blocking it.
