I live in the UK and a friend has found the Nakamichi CD400 on a website in the US for a good price. Will it work the same in his car over here, or is there a different standard of radio freq or plugs?

Thanks

A US version will not receive UK radio frequencies.  You need a UK model.

I checked their website and this is what I found.

FM Tuner Section

Frequency Range

U.S.A.87.5 - 107.9 MHz in 200-kHz steps
Other Area87.5 - 108.0 MHz in 50 kHz steps

AM Tuner Section

Frequency Range

U.S.A.530 - 1,710 kHz in 10 kHz steps
Other Area

531 - 1,602 kHz in 9 kHz steps

I dont know if this helps.

It'll probably work, but the display may read slightly off.  That's what mine did when I was overseas, although I haven't been to the UK.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
