Among the ongoing flaming of Audiobahn - i ask a different question:

I have a box for a single 15" and have about $120 bucks to fill it. Before anyone says anything, i could care less about SQ (my car's gas tank is in between the trunk and the seats anyway - i've put buddies $1000 infinity systems in my car, and it doesn't matter, anything i use will be muddy, i just have to deal with it).

With that off my back, i can get an Audiobahn alum15 for 100 bucks, is there something better for the price? I'm looking in the above 500W rms range, and in the lower-end of the brand spectrum (again, no money). Anyone have a suggestion?

Please no "just save up and get something better". I'm a student with no money, but recently sold some stuff and have a little money to spend on single 15.

ANY suggestions would be helpful.

EDIT: Also, will a 3 ohm load do anything bad to a normal amplifier (it's 2 ohm stable). Weird question, just never used 6 ohm DVC's.

Spend $150 and buy an Adire Tempest. It will absolutely destroy anything Audiobahn in just about every way in the 500w rms range.

How big is your box?

So - dumb question.

Would this sub put out a higher SPL than the Audiobahn on a Power Acoustik 1600.2 Amp?

Don't know how much power this amp "actually" puts out (don't worry i didn't pay money for it), but it would't be too much for a single Adire Tempest would it?

How large of a box do you have? This will determine whether or not the Tempest is actually right for you.

That should be an alright size for the Temepest sealed..personally id bump it up a cu ft and go ported.
