I was looking through Car Domain being I never really did before and stubled upon this well thought out and intelligent description of a grill made by schoche. Thes stupid things spin by using little motors but the description just made me laugh "You want something totally new and trick for your ride? The peeps will freak when they scope out these new spinning grilles from Scosche! Spinner grilles take the practicality of subwoofer protection and combine it with the smooth style of chrome dubs. Tiny motors built into the back of these grilles constantly spin the chrome blades in front at 35-40 RPM to add serious bling-bling to your subwoofers. Mount the hidden trim ring around the edge of your woofers, and then snap-fit the tough ABS plastic grille on top for some real eye candy. Simply hook up the wiring to any switched 12V power source (not recommended for remote turn-on leads). Deep 1" grille design accommodates most subwoofers, but may not fit some ultra-high excursion, cast basket subs. Not everyone can roll deuce deuces; but with Scosche spinner grilles, you can have that whack chrome dub look for your trunk! Sold individually. i was helping a friends little brother who is in high school install his system a month back and we were driving while listening to it. he breaks out those damn grills from a bag in the back seat and asks me to wire them in. i grab them from him and throw them out the window going about 60. never seen a 17yo so pissed off before. how much do those cheap a** things run for anyways?

True story: While down in the states I was yapping with my brother about using hubcaps as speaker grills. We also discussed this EXACT idea, right down to the electric motor, but we added effects like neon and a variable speed motor so they could act as a fan to keep the cone and dustcap cool. Ok I probably qualify as the younger crowd hear, and if maybe the overall concept wasn't outplayed on wheels as is, this might be interesting. This is simply looking to overkill. I mean hell, they make hubcaps now that spin. Ever seen an early 90's grand am with em? I have. Christ, buy real wheels. I'm gonna be content with my standard 5 point 17" wheels I'm getting when I have the 1400 :) No spin, just a nice chrome wheel that fits with the 5 point design my car has. (I hate this ugly 15" wheel) Sometimes I like the graphics (Chrome flames I don't think would look bad as long as you made them and put some touch to fit your car and not a standard package.) I like flashy, but wow, lets make the trunk look like it is moving... I personally like the full effect of being able to see my subs bump, don't need any distraction from that. ------------- 1998 Monte Carlo w/

true my friend... i've lost interest in a great deal of car audio because it's all about the bling now..... fidelity isnt even mentioned...that's why i spend most of my time taking care of starter and security customers now..... i dont give a sh*t about the bling.....

Flipped through the channels and saw these grills in a music vid. If rappers have them then 10 million more wannabees are gonna buy. This is a gold mine.
