I have an option to buy a Eclipse CD8545 brand new, but not from an authorized dealer.  Will i loose out on the Eclipse security because i don't purchase it from a dealer?  And will i have full access to the E-iSERV to set it up over the computer? Obviously i wont get a warranty.

I don't know but I'll take a guess so you won't feel so ignored....

The deck has a serial number, so you should be able to get security set up and use the software online to make the adjustments.  As long as that serial hasn't been used by someone else.  But of course I'm an unauthorized opinionator....and am only guessing.

That's a good question Alp, I am going up to StereoinDash today to get my deck swapped out(This one is having some power issues for no apparent reason and it's annoying to reset daily). I'll ask them up there is they know anything about the extent of the security and server use.

No warranty, no theft replacement. You should stil be able to use the ei-serve. You may have to fill out a ESN change of owner certificate to register you as the new user.

Even if you did get the change of ownership certificate, there would still be no warranty in Canada.
