I recently purchased two pioneer 10" 1500SPL subs and was considering to get two new Pioneer PRS-D3000SPL mono amps for my system, however, I will only be able to purchase two pioneer gm-d510M mono amps. My question is, how can I hook both amps up so that they will both receive an equal and powerful enough signal from rca? would the use of y-connectors be sufficient or is there a crossover that allows dual pair sub outputs? Or could I split the signal and use two low pass crossovers and have them set at same freq-pros/cons?

It depends. If both of those amps are running both woofers, then yes, you will need a Y cable or an RCA splitter. Why get two different amps instead of getting one huge amp, saving you space, power cable, and especially amperage? You don't want a ho alternator, as you'll need $400 + for a good one. What is the rest of the system?

You'll have no problem getting all the power from the RCA into the Amps if you split them with a Y. The amplifier amplifies the signal from the RCA, so their is plenty of power from the RCA if it is split. I would concentrate on running enough power from the battery to power them to their max. I would use atleast 6ga. if not 4ga. wire.

If you are still in the consideration stages, consider a single mono amp of some type. Even if you are the biggest Pioneer lover in the world, it is in your best interest to spend your harnd earned money on the best possible solution to your problem. Two amps take up more space, generally draw more current and use up more wiring (read more $$$$). Find a good amp that will do what you need and make those subs wail with it.
