i have 2 gbl gto's 6X8 in the front (60W rms), and alpine sps 170a's in the back (40W rms)
right now it's hooked up to the stock clarion amp (96 altima), and i just wanted to improve the sound quality (because i hear some hissing etc). i'm not planning on getting the tube or anything, so i'm curious which would be more suitable for my speakers.
i'm looking at these two amps:
Kenwood KAC-8401 60W x 4 @ 4ohms
Pioneer GM 6000F 50W x 4 @ 4 ohms
just curious if pushing my 40W alpines with 60 is a bit too much, or i'm sure there's a way to adjust it to each set of speaks? any input will be welcomed.
in other words, my concern would be. on a kenwood, i can at least adjust the amp down to 40 for my alpines, but will i compromise the sound quality if i'm just giving 50W of juice for my 60W speakers (which i'm thinking won't be very significant)...
Use the larger of the two amps. The difference in power is slim to none.

thank you. does anyone know of any online instructional material on how to wire an amp. my altima has a stock plug in connections to the stock amps.
The Kenwood amp is the better of the two. If you wanted a better amp This MTX amp is cheaper and better then both of the amps you mentioned. It costs less also.. https://www.cardomain.com/item/MTX404 It's rated at 50 watts X 4 continuous.
Don't worry too much about RMS ratings as long as you don't go to high over the power rating. It dos't hurt speakers at all, to give them less then their RMS power rating, as long as you don't make the amp clip. If your amp starts clipping too much it can send distortion to your speaker and blow them.
