JVC KD-S5050 no power?

Hey,
   First time installing :) Wanted to try it out and see what happens (after all, taht's why I bought a 95 sunfire hehe)
   Okay so here's the problem. I have tried installing my KD-S5050 car stereo to my '95 pontiac sunfire. After connecting all the wires (speakers & power), the unit won't turn on. Basically, when the wire harness is plugged into the unit, I get a "See you" greeting (doesn't matter whether the car is on or off) but after that it turns off. I tried turning on the car and pressing the power/ATT button (holding it down for over 5 seconds) and I get no display. I have also tried pushing both the power/ATT & the SEL button to reset the unit with no luck. What could be the problem? I have made sure my wire connections are connected to the right leads.
   Now here's the interesting part. Before I made any strong connections, I connected JUST the two power wires (12V constant and 12V switched) and the ground. The unit turned on perfectly. I disconnected all this so I can properly hook it up with connectors and such, and all I get is the "see you" display. Do I have some sort of wiring wrong or what? I'm pretty sure it's all the way I did it before and the connections are the same, if not, better :)

you dont have ignition hooked up or the ignition fuse is blown or the wire you suspect is ignition is not. Verify your wire, your connection and your fuse, if its all good, then test the wire with a multimeter and if it doesnt test properly find a new ignition source.
