wut's up guys, i have a question. i have a 1993 toyota pickup, and i got a sony player cuz the factory one was just not working, and i hooked up pioneer 6x9's in the rear, and it gives me sound at least. and i decided to test out the sounds with a new 12 inch JL w3 that my friend owns. we connected everything, but when we did, the rear 6x9's stopped working and the sub was giving off sounds, and it wasnt from the player, cuz it wasnt right when we heard the front speakers and the music compared to the bass that the sub was giving off...it was strange, and i am wondering if there's something to the wiring or if its something else. i cut the wiring harness off and reconnected each wire to the corresponding one to the new player, some didnt match in color or most didnt, but i got it to work. why is it that when i hooked up an amp and a sub that the speakers stopped working and the sub was giving off weird continuous sounds.. is there a factory amp in my truck? its a 1993 toyota pickup extracab.  can u please tell me HOW to connect the wires correctly.

Ok first before I can help you I need to know if your sony is a 16 pin connector, if not how many is it? No the truck does not come with an outboard amplifier. The strange noise that you hear is it a static sound and does it only happen when the vehicle is on? What style amp did you have connected to the head unit?
With knowing how many pin it is I can help you rewire it correctly if it is needed to be. Other than that its more for personal information to see what other problems could be happening.

umm im not really sure if its a 16 pin but all i know is that the model of the player is the CDX-F5505X. man im not even sure what kinda amp it was but the brand was umm.....soundstream. and it was only one 12 inch JL w3 in a ported box. the noises were from the sub, and it was low bass sounds, the sub was flexing alot and making the normal sound it's supposed to be making when the music plays, but it was off from the beat of the music, and the sound from the sub was continuous, everytime we switched the player on. is there anymore information i have to give? just let me know! please....thank you!

Ok so you bought a good cd player, 2 volt preouts, which was another thing that I thought that it could be but its not anymore. Do you have the amp turn on wire connected correctly on the headunit connection plug, it should be the royal blue wire that will match with the acc. turn on wire, that is one of the main reasons that people have no sound out of their speakers when you have an outside amp pluged in.

ok i tried doing what you said, but there's this PINK wire comming from the truck and i connected that to the AMP REM wire (royal) and everything is working(only the speakers, no sub or amp) but when i took that off and connected the AMP REM to the AMP, and connected the ATT REM to the PINK wire, the rear 6X9's didn't work when i turned on the CD! but when it's the TUNER, it worked! i think that is very strange but do you know what's wrong with that???

what in the world are you doing.   nothing should be hooked from the factory harness to the remote amp wire on the deck in the truck besides the remote wire that goes to your amp.    your pink wire should be one of your dimmer wires if I remember right in this truck. I would look up a diagram on here for your wire colors before you end up frying your deck or worse.

i have never encountered a factory alarm in these vehicles, here is what I would do with this many problems,   run new wire!    it is very very easy in these pickup's to run new speaker wire for the front and rear speakers, do this, then run your remote wire to the amp. and everything should be fine.
