Now this isn't alternator whine (i dont think..). When I turn on my radio, i hear a high pitch whine, that doesn't change in pitch, comming out of my tweeters. Its there when ever my head unit is on, CD/Tuner/StdBy. This leads me to believe it could be an amplifier problem. What do you guys think? Im running 5v preouts to my trunk, and the lines to the front from the trunk. It doesn't change when i drive or anything, just always there. Kind of like AM whine on a radio.. any help is great! thanks!

Do you have your power wire running near your RCA's??

There is your problem, the rca and power should be seperated. Reason being is that the rca picks up noise from your power wire. Also do you have any other aftermarket electronics in your car, i.e. white face gauges or neons? Often the gauges will make a high pitched noise if not properly grounded.

But definately start by seperating the power and rca.

My friends car had the same problem. I thought it was a bad ground, but no matter where we grounded the amps the whine persisted. Then one day I noticed he was running his RCAs and power wire together D'OH!! We ran them on opposite sides of the car and bingo!! Problem solved.

yea I suppose the 2 ga power wire is causing that..
Argh, another 2 hours running lines.. : (

Im a stock guy, no fancy lights, just a KDC-MP425 is the only thing visible. Ohh btw, i get really crappy reception. I drive a '99 Maxima, and i bought 2 different adapters to try and i still have bad radio reception posted_image

Ideas?
