Hello, i'm new to this board, so if i am posting in the wrong place, please forgive me.
This is a two part question...
First question is - a buddy of mine is selling me a JL audio amplifier model # e-6450 (for $280). I tried to google info on it and found 1 review which was positive, but found no other reviews.
Being that i don't want to make my buying decision solely on 1 review, i thought i'd visit a place where people are more likely to have had firsthand experience with the amp.
The system i have
-head unit- Alpine cda-9835
-speakers(front)-Boston Acoustics Proseries 5.5x
-speakers(rear)-None (no fill)
-subs- 2 8"s in a sealed box.
Now. I just wanted to know if the JL audio would be able to give me great sound. I believe it to be a flexible amp (from reading the user manual), but i thought i'd ask to see if anyone's had problems with it, or if there were any recurring issues with the amp before purchasing.
My second question:
I wanted to know how the JL audio e-6450 stacks up against the Memphis Belle 600. I know the memphis is probably a higher-end amp, but i just wanted to know if it is worth the extra 300 dollars i'd have to come up with to purchase the Memphis instead.

it really all depends on what you want to do with the amps, I think the belle is a little better amp

I want to drive 2 separates for the front, and 2 subs for the rear (that's all)...
do you think the memphis belle is worth the extra $300.00, let me rephrase it...do you think it's justified to pay $300. more for the belle (is it going to give me that much of a sound improvement (after hearing it compared with the jl am i'm gonna go wow, that extra $300 sure was worth it!!!! )) ya know?

The last component in the chain that you will actually be hearing is the amp...if you hear it at all. I would dare say that if you set up a scientific A-B comparison with the two amps, using your car, speakers, etc., that you would not know the difference between the two. Choose the one that provides the power and features you need, and that fits your budget. Both amps are high quality.
------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Thanks, i was thinking the same thing...i don't have 300 bones to burn, and it seems as if the amp is pretty decent.
