is there a problem with using one pair of rca jacks with a y splitter one pair goin to an amp powering subs and the other goin to an amp thats powering 6X9's. pros and cons please....thanks

no... no problem.
pros: one pair of RCA's - less expensive
cons: no fader or remote sub volume capability
