Ok my firend has a budget of  250CDN (200US)  dollars total for a sub and amp. Im selling him a ALPINE MRV T 320 2 channel amp it will do a good 220WRMS bridged @ 4ohms, for about 80CDN WITH AMP KIT. So we need a sub that can take this power. If we can we would like to get a 10inch or even a 8inch because he is limited in space. Trunk of a 1993 mazda MPV is very limited EVEN to build a box whcih we will have to do. WE have no problem buyign off eBay even if its used. so thats where we will most likely be shopping. Anyways please help me here as i have no clue what to do. Just somethign to provide bass not looking for amazing sytsem here just he wants bass.

I would recommend the Image Dynamics IDQ10v.2. They work great in small selaed enclosures. Your amp should be fine for that woofer. I saw one on ebay for $57 with three bids.

when did you see that on ebay i dont see it can u paste l ink thanks.

PS since that sub is  a dual 4ohm the one on ebay. my amp can do 80*2 @ 4ohma stereo. does that mean i can use tha mp in 2 channel mode wire left channel to one side of sub and then wire the other side witth the right channel of amp. because then the amp will see a 4 ohm load at both sides.....so i get 160WRMS to sub ?

Two fairly good subs that would be a good match for your amp would be a RF 10 inch P2 or an Alpine 10 inch Type S. If you look on ebay or on other shops are the net I'm sure you can find either for $100 US or less.

what ever sub you go with, don't buy it USED of e-bay. support your local car audio dealer. you'll get his pro advice and service. + a warrantee good luck with your project.

THe only problem from buying from my local dealer is it endds up being way out of my friends budget eBay is great. i've bought used amps and never had a problem. The one time i did the amp arrived broken never worked got my money back and GOT TO KEEP the amp. so i do trust ebay.

For REALLY inexpensive subs, I have been very impressed with Pioneers offerings.  They have the ability to get loud and they sound pretty good as well.

k well what is happened is my friend has found a ALPINE SBS-1041DBP its a 10inch ina bandpass and can be run at 4ohms so he is thinking to buy this as he can p urchase it for 150CDN shipped to his house. I read up some reviews and it seems pretty darn good. i know its in a bandbass so its far from SQ. Pioneer you say well ill have to check it out.
We were goign to buy a ADIRE SHIVA but now we cant even find it anywhere. THen i said maybe the KODA 8 but i dont know if its good for a SUB or its only for midbass....We also thought of a Koda 10 but thats just outta the budget.

The crystal CMP-10 is sweet, but it requires a minimum of 350 watts rms

The Shiva would have been great.  But unfortunately we are out of them.  The same is true of the Koda 8, however I don't know if you would have been happy with it's extention.  The Koda 10 would work awesome and we do have those in stock.  But like you said, they are kind of pricey.

customsuburb: That alpine in a bandbox ive already seen it im trying to contact the seller to ship to canada. He emaield back and said shipping is about 40US and will take 4-6WEEKS to arrive. Im really thinking about it as it will fit in his trunk and 220WRMS @ 4ohms to that sucker will pound for his needs.

ALso whoever here has reccomended pioneer they seem ok. 40US for 10inch that can take 300WRMS. not bad anyways what can you guys tell me about the sub below. It just seems likke a good deal. i just cant seem to find the specs for the sub in the box and the seller is selling for friend
