Does anybody know of any input peripheral i can use to plug in my AUX port on my head unit, so i can plug in my IPOD and play it o ver the system? I got a Nakamichi, so of course it can handle it! I just want to know is there any peripheral out there with that kind of plug for an IPOD. Thanks

try the icelink cable www.densionusa.com. Ive done a few of these cables on audi's and bmw's and they are pretty cool. (little pricey for a cable but cool) one audio actually displayed track info on the deck. and it also charges

If you don't want a direct connection. Then you can get an FM modulator for the IPod.  It tunes in on a specific radio station and you still use your Ipod for song navigation etc.

I do want a direct connection, one that plugs into the back of the head unit in the AUX port.

You'll have to find the RCA to Aux Input adaptor for your head unit, I'm not sure where to get it.  Maybe PIE electronics.  Google them.  You'll also need the IPod to RCA adaptor to plug in to that one.

my aux port has RCA'S sticking out the back of it. I just need the converter from ipod to RCA.

you should be able to buy that type of cord anywhere you can buy an Ipod.  Just google it and see what comes up

Since the iPod (and most other portable music players) has an earphone output, you can use any stero mini-jack to RCA cable.  They can be had for as little as $1.99 or less.  This can be run to your aux inputs.  There are two caveats, however: first, since the iPod headphone output is amplified, you will have to be very careful not to turn the volume on the iPod up too far and thus overload the HU inputs.  A little experimentation will show you the "sweet spot."  Second, since the iPod is an ungrounded device it is possible to create horrendous ground loops and introduce engine noise into your system if you power the iPod from the car's electrical system (like a cigarette lighter output.)  Best bet without a dedicated vehicle adapter like the one mentioned earlier is to run the iPod (or any other MP3 player) off its battery.

Why would someone so concerned with every last 0.0003453% of distortion be interested in compressed music? ;-)

Just because i'm curious about how you would do it. By the way, i'm concerned with every 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000001 % of THD, even less than that. lol
