We had a Jag in the shop the other day but I did not do the install unfortunately.  The fm modulator is definately the easiest to install but I would not recommend doing this yourself.  Here is a little guide though on the removal of the Head unit.  I hope this helps

NEW X TYPE JAGUAR 71241

1. Remove the gear shift gaiter.

2. Remove the ashtray.

3. Remove the plastic trim in the recess.

4. Remove the two screws that are then exposed.

5. Unclip the trim panel around the hazard warning switch.

6. Remove the two screws beneath.

7. Pull out the entire radio / screen unit.

8. Locate the bracket with the philips screw and the guide pin beneath, in the left of the radio recess.

9. Refit the trim and parts in reverse

Antenna adapters are required I beleive for this installation.  I know the 2002+ takes the 40-EU10 but metra should have what you would need, just give them a ring.  If you need thier number, just let me know.
