I've got a few basic question about crossovers.

https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/cross.asp#powera

Here it says that 6db/oct will sum to flat.

Here it says that 12db/oct will sum to flat.

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1884089178/ref=ase_the12voltcom-20/103-9182405-7931029?v=glance&s=books

Here it says that 24db/oct will sum to flat.

Which is true?? Or do they all sum to flat response??

Also, I'm kinda confused about the whole 1st, 2nd, 3rd order, ect. Does a 1st order crossover mean it's 6db/oct, 2nd order mean it's a 12db/oct, ect.?

Yes, any properly designed passive crossover will "sum" the circuit to flat.  That is their purpose.  Not all do, of course, but that's what they are supposed to do.  The different slopes simply means the cross point has a steeper transfer function.  And yes, 1st order refers to 6db/octave (electrical), 2nd to 12 db/oct, 3rd is 18db/oct, etc.
