JL 10W3 or 10W6

I want to get two 10" subs for my car and I am trying to decide between the W3 series and the W6 series. I've searched and read a few post about these speakers and from what I read, it seems like the W6s hit harder than the W3s. I am looking for sound quality. DO the W6s have better SQ than the W3s in addition to being louder? Is there any main difference between the first version and the second version W6s?

Really, it depends on your money situation. W6's do have better sq and hit harder. I'd get the W3's, just because there very dependable over the W6's, which i've seen a lot of them blow.

if you can get the 10w3v2 I like them over the 10w6's

Ya try to AVOID the W3 and W6 trie to go for W3V2 or W6V2 they are a better and not much more in price and they can take more power. In termls of JL you cannot go wrong you will have GREAT SQ. If you want just go to wwww.jlaudio.com and download the manuals for w3 and w3v2 i did it yesterday to compare my 12w3v2 to a 12w3 a bit of a differnce. WHen plotting in WInisd i saw mine can get louder with same amount of power in the same box.

Wheelerdr, why you do like the W3 over the W6?

In all honesty I like the sound from the 10w3v2, more power , and this sub really seems to hit deeper and more clear than the 10w6, I know even the 10w6v2 is suposed to be better but not to me But i like the look of the w6v2, and it does pound lots harder but the sound of the 10w3v2 is better in sq and that is what matters to me.

its a program that can calculate SPL from a given box and power input. its a bit weird to use.
