My system is cutting out with deep bass at 3/4's. Dont have it that loud very often but it should be able to run at that level. I have an Alpine IVA-901 HU. I put in a 250 amp alternator to a Stinger Sp 1000 battery, 1 gauge the Orion MBR 70, then 1 gauge to the 2nd SP 1000 and then to the dist block. I have 2 amps a Diamond Audio 1200.1 that runs 2 Focal 13's and then a Diamond Audio D7104 that I am only using 2 of the channels to run my front Dynaudio 360 3 ways. I will be using the 3rd and 4th channel to run a set of 5.25 for the rears. Do I need a cap? I thought that with all my power I would be good. When I run a volt meter none of the batteries ever drop below 12 volts even with deep bass. ANy thoughts?

Its possible the amps may be overheating.. just a thought.. check that with a 250 amp alternator and the volt meter not dropping below 12 volts I wouldnt think you would have any power issues...
Forget about the Cap, if you read enough post here you'll learn their useless
again Im leaning towards a heat issue..

Good luck with it

Re do your grounds, im assumeing they are both connected at the same point?  Sounds like the ground can't keep up with the current your requireing.
