Alright. I have my mind set on 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1s (I already have one or I would get the DVC ones) with a Hifonics BX1500D amp.

Now the size box that Infinity says to use is 1.00ft^3 for sealed and 1.75ft^3 with a port tuned at 32hz.
How does anyone have any experience with these subs? I'm trying to get the most volume out of them possible with the supplied power. I want to do ported. But what about some kind of ... I hate to say it ... Bandpass?
sheet says VREAR = 2.20 ft^3, VFRONT = 1.25 ft^3 Ported at 40.0 Hz. This shows some very impressve numbers on winISD ... showing 16 more dB then ported.
So i guess what i'm asking is what you you do with this equipment to get the most spl out of it. This car won't be a daily driver. I'm using this for a simple comp in wich I will compete against all other N/A V6 cars there.
I run a Kappa Perfect 12.1. Nice SQ in a 1cuft sealed enclosure, and mine runs with only 100 watts. They are rated at 350 watts but can handle a bit more in a sealed enclosure, so with yur Hifonics I recomend using them sealed. If you run them ported, your amp will be too much at 1000 watts into a 2-ohm load. You really want to keep it BELOW 350 watts per speaker if you port a Kappa. I personally hate the sound of a bandpass enclosure, but if that's what you want there are probably better woofers for a BP than the Kappa. And if you want to compete, I KNOW there are better SPL subs than a Kappa.

great ... thanks for the input.
Maybe I'll save up for a single Brahma 12 with the same amp and run it at one Ohm. That'll be 1500 watts into the Brahma. But playing with winISD again It shows that one KP will out perform one Brahma? wtf on that. Must be a computing error or something.
I think I'm gonna go balls out and save the cash for the Brahma. Now i know a bunch of you have Brahmas. How do you have then boxed. I'm thinking ported at 30hz (like the site recomends) but i still need a volume of the box.
