Before brand names get thrown around, I would suggest a ported box, maybe with some 15"s. Alot of displacement and air movement.

Now tell us your budget...

I say sealed box with 15's, depending on budget. They get plenty loud, plus have a better SQ.

NOW tell us your budget...

I don't know how big the trunk is, like crown vic big or honda big, but you couldn't go wrong with 2 brahmas. Or 3. Or 4. Hell man just yank the back seat too.

Reasonably efficient 15" drivers.  As many as you can fit and the budget will allow.

pssst, Alpine Guy .... "saving" :-)

if this is your first  build, lets keep it simple yet rewarding.  i'm guessing that your rear seat folds down.  if they do, fold them down and build you a baffle board which totally seals the trunk from the interior.  seal all perferations in back dash, then  your trunk will effectively be a 'box'.  kicker comp or comp vr series subs will perform in that infinate baffle application pretty good.  easy build, not much money on subs so more money for a good amp, very effecient subs, better lowend response  than ported.  measure and see if you can fit 2 15s, that would bang

If the budget doesn't allow for the 6 brahmas I suggested then what that guy right up there ^ said would be cost effective and loud.

Then Brahmas or W7s will give you wonderful SQ and hella SPL. I'm not sure which you could fit more of in your trunk. Probably Brahmas. But you should most definatly look into upgrading your power supply before you listen to any speaker suggestions that are made by me because they will require lots of power.

Where are you from aks?? Money is not an option?? I can think of about every stereo shop in the U.S. (and Canada, not to cut you out Rob!!) that would be willing to help you accomplish flexing your trunk.

And if you are out for SPL and not so much sound quality, check out the new Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro, they handle a continous 4000 watts................ouch!! But they are not the best SQ sub, though do sound alot better than the original Stroker, our shop has managed to get one at CES this year and have installed it in a Dodge magnum, pushed by a Zapco CK9.0, that will do you in for some damage!!

If money is not a problem... I have a few options for a perfect sound system for you:

1.  Sell the Suzuki and buy a new 2005 Ford mustang GT and a chambered exhaust system (no additional stereo needed....the nice rumble will do you good)

2.  For a little more,  sell the suzuki and get a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette.... with an SLP exhaust

In all seriousness now,  I'd check out the Brahma, if you can get your hands on one.....   But I say stay away from JL audio...  You're paying $400 for the product, and $300 for the W7 badge.....   Adire is a better deal

Eh. I don't like JL's components, their amps are overpriced, imo, but I still think they do a good job producing quality subwoofers. The W7 is a nice driver. I wouldn't write it off.

That said, I'd still go with the Brahma.

The JL sub in my opinion is the best thing they make. There components don't suck but don't match my ears just right and I agree there amps are a bit pricey.

I agree that JL subs are amazing.  But (correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive I saw a $700 price tag on a 12 inch W7 about a year ago (are they more now?))  $700 for a giant electrical magnet is a bit out of my range.

I think the Adire simply slaps JL's face with a white glove when it comes to w7 beating woofers.  Even if I did have the money for a W7, I'd probably give my money to Adire for 2 brahmas.  The Brahmas sound amazing, pound the spot welds out of cars, and can be had for a fraction of hte price of a w7.

Which also brings me to another point.  I beleive I read MTX had a W7 beater... Anybody know which woofer that was?

The bottom line is, sure, the W7 is a woofer that a mere mortal should bow down to,  but I can find many better ways to spend the $300 I saved buying a Brahma...

Yeah, but the last few car audio things he sold have negative feedbacks....  And how would a sub get stratches like that on the magnet, without having been tossed around carelessly?

Too good to be true = too good to be true...

I just ordered a W7 12. The only reason I went with the W7 over the brahma is because I have never had a W7 and it was cheap. I can get just about anything except Adire at wholesale. From what I've heard they are both equally excelent subs, but yes unless you have the hookup on the JL the Brahma deffinatly makes more sense.
